It's spelt "cane". As in when you used to receive the cane at school for being a twat. Therefore, you would either "cane" someone, or be "caned" by them. NOT "cain" them or indeed, get "cained". This has long been an annoyance to me. Sort it out.

I actually thought the term cained was in reference to the Cain/Abel story as in "a friend/brother stabbed me in the back"...but I guess that makes sense too...

i think it should be a word which doesnt matter how you spell it, it means the same fucking thing. both seem good, but if it were to come to it, cained would win as caned looks too much like canned and some people/retards could get it mixed where as cained is spelt to be said...therefor better

Except cained isn't actually a word. Cain is, obviously. But nothing to do with being slapped with bamboo. Go look it up.

cane, caner n. to be "told off" or to be badly beaten at something (not normally physically). Anything really bad, so to receive a caning is to get told off,, "He caned you!", "You got a real caning there!" UK

I think that this is how it's meant and where it came from. Fair enough Ants, I see where you're coming from. But people who use/spell the term/word with no idea where it originates, that pisses me off.

i always spelt it cain but always asumed it came from being hit with a big stick (cane) just cos i spelt it differently don't assume i don't know anything
